I would encourage the consumer to rate shop, which is really, really important.  Rates across lenders can vary as much as 5-7%, as their risk scoring models will place emphasis on different factors, which ultimately dictates the rate.

Additionally, consumers should realize that being approved relies on 2 main factors:  creditworthiness, but also the material state of your vehicle.  Even prime credit customers can be turned away if their vehicle fails to meet lenders specs.

Most lenders will refi vehicles 7 years old or less with 80K miles or fewer.  Some have make/model exclusions too, so be sure to check the lender requirements before applying.</description>
